Suriya, We Need Still More

Success of ‘Ghajini’ has dug new roads for Suriya to enter into Tollywood. He got enough recognition and craze like our direct Telugu heroes. Every film of Suriya used to be dubbed into Telugu from Tamil and majority of them proved to be decent hits. However, Suriya isn’t journeying on the right track off late from last few films like ‘7th Sense, Sikinder’ and ‘Brothers.’

After a decent gap, Suriya came up with ‘Rakshasudu’ in Venkat Prabhu direction. The film had parallel release in Telugu, Tamil. Having good concept and market ruling formula of horror-comedy, ‘Rakshasudu’ opened for not-so-bad reviews and also good mouth talk. Paradoxically, every dubbing film suffers from the same drawback with sudden fall of collections and ‘Rakshasudu’ is not different. Trade reports see a steep fall in adoration at ticket counters for the film which might all end up as an average grosser.

At the same time, critics are underlining on Suriya’s lack of quality touch in selection of scripts these days. A direct Telugu film might be well in his thoughts but before that he needs to deliver something like ‘Ghajini’ because Telugu people are asking for more from this talented personality. Hope, he is hearing to us.
