The love & war ’bout Avatar?

Remember the mastermind behind the Terminator, Titanic, Aliens and True Lies? It is author James Cameron who took almost 15 years to come out with this novel venture, Avataar.The Rs 2400 crore movie (Compare with the Rs 38-crore mega film Magadheera!) is about America’s defeat in the Vietnam war but at the core, it’s a love story, scheduled for release on Dec 18.Jake (Sam Worthington) is a wounded US marine who is paralyzed down waist falls in love with Pandora inhabitant Neyitiri.Jake is selected to take part in the Avatar programme which will help him walk.

Jake then travels to Pandora,a satellite of gas giant Polyphemus that orbits Alpha Centauri,several light years from the earth,where he meets Neytiri (Zoe Saldana).She has great physical stamina to oppose human encroachment into the forests. As humans cannot breathe the air on Pandora, they create a genetically-bred human-hybrids known as Avatars.Soon Jake integrates himself with Navi clan and falls in love with Neytiri. Ultimately, he has to choose between the forces of earth and those of Navi and that consequently decides the fate of Pandora!
