There is a big hue and cry on so called film critics and reviewers posting up-to-date postmortems of new films in the name of reviews and analysis. When reviews are posted on websites and other technical platforms with high visibility, some of the producers, actors and directors are venting their anger questioning on the eligibility of these reviewers. A film is either good or bad; if the majority public opinion is mirrored in these reviews… then that should be biggest eligibility. Moreover, these reviews are just opinion of a particular writer who watched the film and sharing his views. There is nothing more to signify.
When names like Praveen Sattaru, Suhasini Maniratnam, Trivikram Srinivas and others started to question these reviews, then the prominence grew. At the same time, one who is pointing the finger should not forget a fact that the same so called reviews helped their better films to perform extra ordinarily. When it’s good, they mention it as good and when it is bad, it’s the same reflection.
Best point to underline is, these reviews stand on no strong footing to influence the public verdict. Many films which were rated on two stars or two and half stars evolved as blockbusters and vice versa. So, better one has to concentrate on their work rather than get worried about the false notions on judgment of others!
