The small screen wonders are never surprising, but the ongoing trend of competing for satellite rights of Bollywood releases is making many in Mumbai circles to open their mouth in surprise.
As per a source, the satellite prices which are parallel revenue stream for film makers have gone up steeply when compared to last year prices. Maximum among the satellite prices till yesterday are Akshay Kumar’s “Chandni Chowk to China” which is known to be sold for Rs. 5 crores.
But the surprising aspect from last three to six months Bollywood releases is that movies like “Paa” and “De Dana Dan” are sold at Rs.12 and Rs.10 crores respectively. To beat all the odds are Boney Kapoor and Sridevi who already made gold with Hindi version of Telugu “Pokiri” that is “Wanted” are now supposed to have sold the satellite rights to Star TV for an whopping amount of Rs.13 crores, highest till date in Indian small screen history.
