The legal and financial hurdles in the way for release of Ramcharan’s ‘Zanjeer’ and Telugu version ‘Toofan’ can now be considered as cleared. Yes, producer Amit Mehra who took the legal bind over permission from his brothers Sumeet and Puneet Mehra failed to pay them the needed monetary benefits promised earlier. So, the movie was pulled to court by those brothers. As per the update from Mumbai circles, Amit Mehra has voluntarily handed over the production and release burdens of ‘Zanjeer’ to his brothers.
Immediately, the plan of action was prepared and Reliance Entertainment agreed to take up the theatrical distribution rights of ‘Zanjeer’ all over the country for Rs.105 Crores. This means, more or less…the barriers for release are cleared off and a release date will be announced very soon.
