Adavi Ramudu-36, Pokiri-7

28th April has a greater significance in the history of 82 years of Telugu cinema. The date witnessed two industry hit movies and they are 'Adavi Ramudu' and 'Pokiri'. Checkout the details of those movies.

ADAVIRAMUDU: This movie was starred by Nataratna NTR, Jayaprada and Jayasudha. This movie was released on 28th April, 1977. The film collected a share of Rs.3 crores breaking all the previous records of tollywood. The movie ran 100 days in 32  centers which included shifts in non-slab system. This movie also ran for one year in four theaters which included morning shows run.  KV Mahadevan gave superb melodious music for this movie. The movie was directed by Darshakendrudu K.Raghavendra Rao. 

POKIRI: This movie was starred by Prince Mahesh Babu and Ileana. This movie was released on 28th April, 2006. This movie broke the previous collection records of industry hit 'Indra' and collected a share of Rs.40 crores which included audio and satellite rights. Earlier, 'Indra' collected Rs.33 crores including audio and satellite rights. Having got released in 200 centers, 'Pokiri' ran 50 days in 148 direct centers, 100 days in 137 direct centers and 175 days in 48 direct centers.
