Exchange of concepts between South and Bollywood is of course an old custom which still finds applicability. The latest remake from Hindi to Telugu and Tamil is Akshay Kumar and Kajal Agarwal's 'Special 26.' Directed by Neeraj Pandey of 'A Wednesday' fame, the movie was made on a low budget but shaked the BO collecting above Rs.50 Crores. Wooed by the commercial success and beauty in this screenplay, Tamil director cum producer Linguswamy has bought the remake rights paying a decent price.
This is an Indian heist film set on the date of March 19, 1987 when a group fake CBI officers executed an income tax raid on Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri Jewelry, Opera House in Mumbai looting lakhs of worth items. As we know Linguswamy is a wonderful storyteller who focuses more on values of scripting has immediately bought the remake rights. Cast and crew will be finalized very soon.
