Why are Producers Hiring Theatres?

Legendary veteran Dasari Narayana Rao does not leave any opportunity to attack on monopoly of few names ruling the fate of Telugu film industry. It is a known fact that, major chunk of theatres in Andhra Pradesh are under the hold of some big families who are termed as 'Aa Naluguru.' Yesterday at the appreciation meet of Tanikella Bharanai's movie 'Mithunam,' once again Dasari took potshots.

'Everybody should work for the upliftment of small movies. Small producers should earn money by making meaningful films. Basically, producers should survive in market by producing films but not by hiring theatres,' Dasari said. Now, what does this mean? Production, Distribution and Exhibition should not lie in same hands.
