Nandi Awards receive 72 entries

As many as 72 entries have been received for the prestigious Nandi Awards for the year 2011.

According to AP State TV, Theatre & Film Development Corporation managing director RV Chandravan, of 72 entries, 41 are Feature Films, three National Integration films, five Children films, eight Documentary films, six Educational films, three Film Critic films and six Text Books on films. This was disclosed after he held first meeting with the newly appointed Jury Members of AP State Nandi Film Awards Committee-2011 at Samachar Bhavan on Thursday.

Chandravan informed that lot of changes took place this year and eminent people representing all sectors have been nominated as Jury Members.  The presentation of Nandi Awards was started in the year 1964 with an objective to promote the Integrity and unity of the Nation. He has requested the Committee Chairman to fix up a time frame for the screening schedule and complete the process by the end of September 2012.  He further requested to all the Jury members to do justice in selections on merit and keep their opinions confidential.

Chandravan has also requested the Jury Members to suggest any changes required to be done in the existing rules and regulations, prize money, etc.,

The Jury members who attended the meeting include Chairman Gopal Reddy and Jury Members Dr Ampashayya Naveen, Prof K.Anandan, Basi Reddy, Gopini Karunakar, Manmohan Reddy, Mohan Goteti, Dr VR Rasani, Balabhadrapatruni Ramani, Duvvuri Shailendra Kumari Allani Sridhar.
