Few months ago before the release of ‘Department,’ we have heard enough of screams from producer Kiran Kumar Koneru on how his money being eaten away by Ramgopal Varma without giving him any credit for his new films. Now, the new producer in RGV’s cheating list is diamond merchant cum film financier Bharat Shah. Yes, Varama might have to face legal trouble because Shah lodged a complaint against RGV to the Association of Motion Pictures Television Programme Producers (AMPTPP) for unpaid dues which accumulated near to Rs.20 Crores.
The principal amount of Rs.10 Crores taken by RGV during the times of ‘Satya’ and ‘Jungle’ was never retuned back. Neither the interest was paid nor the principal. Even RGV did not react to notices sent by Shah from last one year or so. Sources say that RGV was repeatedly saying the same answer of money being not recovered on all those projects in which Bharat Shah invested. Finally, RGV might have to answer it legally against the proceedings initiated by Shah’s legal advisors.
