Dasari was Powerless

The Comptroller and Auditor General or what we call the CAG report tabled in Parliament yesterday has mentioned the about Rs.2 Lakhs Crores Scam done by Coal Ministry during 2006 to 2009 in allocating the 57 coal blocks to private players and public sector enterprises. During that time, eminent Telugu film personality Dasari Narayan Rao worked as Minister of State for Coal. While CBI is already probing into the irregularities of Coal Ministry with preliminary enquiries, now this report will supply them with necessary proofs to speed up the case.

Dasari Narayana Rao has very early disassociated himself from this scam by informing media that he was just a courier and was powerless in the Ministry. ‘I was only Minister of State. Those were the collective decisions of Steering Committee and Prime Minister who was heading the Coal Ministry. After Sibu Soren’s exit, I was requested by Congress to monitor the Coal Ministry only as Minister of State which means totally Powerless to take any final decisions,’ Dasari said.
