Producers Worried on Heroes Taxation

The new rule from Government on making actors to pay 12.36% as service tax has come like lump in throat for producers. Apparently, top heroes who demand remunerations in Crores will obviously put up this extra burden only on the heads of producers. Ranging from salaries of Rs.25 to 30 Crores for top Bollywood heroes to Rs.10 to 15 Crores for our top Tollywood heroes, everybody has to cut down their pocket. 

In this regards, Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber of Commerce President Suresh Babu and Movie Artists Association President Murali Mohan are constantly getting in touch State and National level Politicians and Actors to find a solution. Very soon, they will offer a representation to Government to reduce the tax to below 5%. If necessary, they might go on a one day national bandh. Twist in the tale is, not just the Movie artists even Television artist who are paid very meager are also to come under this umbrella of service tax.
