'Dookudu' paying the Price!

Producers of ‘Dookudu’ have shown aggression apt to their film title announcing that their movie has become the highest grosser in entire Tollywood crossing ‘Magadheera.’ The immediate effect and ‘Dookudu’ paying the price is attack and searching of Income Tax Officials on the offices and residences of producers (Anil Sunkara, Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta) of the film on Monday for three hours.

These three were reported to be in Kochi when raids have been conducted. Accountant and Employees in office were specifically asked about VAT dues on total gross of the film. Though producers are heard to have remitted advance VAT of Rs. 2 Crores prior to release, the gross collections announced by makers in the scale of Rs. 85 Crores across India will make them to shell out 11% of gross which comes to nearly Rs. 9 Crores. Investigating officials seized daily collections reports, VAT receipts and other documents in the raids. Producers were unavailable to comment.
