Has Varma really copied his script?

Maverick Ramgopal Varma’s coming attraction ‘Not A Love Story’ is facing severe hurdles. First with Maria Susairaj and now with a Mumbai producer Shareef Zuberi who filed a suit in Mumbai Civil Court yesterday seeking direction to restrain Varma from releasing his ‘Not A Love Story.’ 

Story of the film is said to be based on murder of TV executive Neeraj Grover and Shareef stated that the film was a copy of his under production film based on similar plot titled ‘Love Affair.’ Shareef registered the script with Film Writers Association and he alleged that Varma copied his story idea.

‘Love Affair’ is 70% completed, ready for release in next 45 days. Shareef claims that he had already spent Rs.70 Lakhs on venture and was shocked to see in media that Varma was releasing the film ‘Not A Love Story’ based on the same subject on August, 19. Shareef wants Varma to release his film only after ‘Love Affair’ gets exhibited in theaters.
