'Puli' Director with 'Robot' Shankar

It was a known truth that director SJ Suryah had a best actor inside him which came out in numerous occasions including the special appearance in ‘Khushi.’ Now, the director of heavy budgets Shankar pulled off a major coup for his upcoming Tamil remake of the Bollywood hit ‘3 Idiots’ as director Suryah is to do the important role of Chatur Ramalingam or Silencer, done by Omi Vaidya in the original.

As per a Kollywood source, it was hero Vijay who recommended SJ Suryah’s name for the vital role in the film. Ten years ago, this director made his acting debut doing a small role in 'Khushi.'
