Dil Raju acquires Ramayana Rights cautiously

Dil Raju bags Ramayana Rights. The craze for Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash's starrer Ramayana directed by Namit Tiwari is increasing with each passing time. It is known that star producer Dil Raju has been competing to acquire the Telugu rights and he is ready to spend around Rs 80crs.
However a source says Dil Raju is extremely careful after the shock he received from Yash's Toxic directed by Geetu Mohan Das. A noted distributor says “He has taken it on an advance basis and would be paying Rs 54 crore for releasing the film in Telugu states.”
The source added , “No one would be paying Rs 80 or 90 crores as has been reported, which is false,” The source continued “Telugu audiences love watching mythological films but it has to be properly made and executed. Sai Pallavi and Rakul Preet Singh have done Telugu films and carved a niche, while Kannada star Yash as Ravana as also triggered some interest among Telugu fans.”
The source continued “It is a safer business deal because the advance is returnable if it doesn’t work out. If the film makes more than Rs 54 crore in Telugu states, then it would be shared by Dil Raju and producers on an agreeable ratio.’
