Irumudi Massive Success Brings Spotlight to Polluru

A special bridge constructed for Ravi Teja’s Irumudi at Polluru Waterfalls in Chintur mandal has reportedly collapsed after heavy floodwaters swept through the area. Rising inflows from surrounding hill streams intensified the waterfall’s flow, eventually damaging and washing away the temporary structure built for the film’s shooting.

The bridge had become a popular attraction after Irumudi’s release, with visitors keen to see locations featured in the film. Local reports claim holiday crowds at Polluru have risen to thousands, with estimates of 5,000–10,000 visitors on busy days. The bridge offered a close view of the waterfall and became a photo spot.

Directed by Shiva Nirvana, Irumudi stars Ravi Teja, with the father-daughter emotional drama blending devotional and thriller elements. Released on August 21, the film became Ravi Teja’s highest grossing movie after Mythri Movie Makers announced that its worldwide theatrical gross crossed ₹250 crore.

Irumudi also reached Netflix on September 18 while continuing its theatrical run, adding to its wider popularity. With the movie turning Polluru into a recognizable filming location, the bridge’s collapse has disappointed visitors who had hoped to recreate scenes and photographs from the film at the waterfall.
