Prime Video is expanding The Traitors franchise into Telugu, with Teja Sajja stepping into the host’s chair. The upcoming reality show will bring the internationally successful format to Telugu audiences, combining celebrity contestants, secret alliances, deception and strategic gameplay inside an elaborate palace setting designed to intensify suspicion.
The promotional video introduces a mysterious palace filled with candlelit corridors, imposing portraits and hidden motives. Teja Sajja sets the tone by warning that recognising an obvious enemy is easier than identifying a trusted friend secretly working against you, promising an intense battle of deception and betrayal.
The format divides contestants into Traitors and Innocents, with the latter attempting to identify the hidden players before being eliminated. The original Indian adaptation became a major Prime Video reality hit, with Karan Johar hosting its first two seasons in Hindi. Season 2 featured 21 celebrity contestants and weekly episodes.
The global format has already received more than 35 adaptations across over 30 countries, highlighting its international popularity. The Telugu edition gives Teja Sajja an opportunity to explore a different screen space beyond cinema, as he orchestrates the suspense, confrontations and alliances among celebrity participants.
