Kichcha Sudeep has unveiled a majestic new avatar as Sri Krishnadevaraya in Devaraaya, creating excitement among fans on his birthday. The historical drama is backed by People Media Factory and Supriyanvi Picture Studio, with the first look showcasing the actor in regal attire. The project promises a grand period spectacle.

The glimpse presents Sudeep as the celebrated Vijayanagara emperor with a crown, traditional royal costume and an imposing presence. Sri Krishnadevaraya ruled from 1509 to 1529 and became renowned for military victories, administration and patronage of literature, art and culture. His legendary legacy gives the film considerable historical significance.

Devaraaya brings together People Media Factory and Supriyanvi Picture Studio for an ambitious pan-India venture. People Media Factory has backed films including Karthikeya 2, Dhamaka and Bro, while Supriyanvi Picture Studio is associated with projects such as Mark. Gowra Hari’s music is expected to strengthen the film’s majestic atmosphere further and complement its royal setting.

Director and additional cast details are yet to be revealed, while the makers have announced a December 2027 theatrical release. Sudeep, known for Kannada blockbusters and prominent multilingual roles, now takes on a demanding historical character. With scale, royal imagery and an iconic emperor at its centre, expectations are rising significantly among audiences.
