Toxic Legal Notice To YouTuber Over Review

Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups has become part of a legal controversy after YouTuber Suraj Kumar revealed that he received a notice from Aiplex Software over his review. The notice was issued on behalf of KVN Monster Mind Creations LLP, which is associated with the film’s production, shortly after its theatrical release.

The development follows an August 22 interim order from a Bengaluru court in a case filed by KVN Productions LLP. The Additional City Civil and Sessions Court restricted the publication or circulation of false, malicious or defamatory material concerning Toxic. The ex-parte injunction is scheduled to remain effective until the next hearing on September 28.

Suraj Kumar shared an image of the legal notice on X, saying he had received it regarding his online review. The notice identified a YouTube review and stated that Aiplex was authorised to issue notices, seek takedowns, request blocking or de indexing, and pursue other legal or technical measures concerning unauthorised content related to the film.

Importantly, reports indicate that the court order does not expressly prohibit genuine reviews or ordinary criticism of Toxic. The News Minute noted that the injunction specifically targets false, malicious, defamatory or derogatory material. The distinction has become important as discussions continue online about the boundaries between movie criticism, misinformation and potentially defamatory content.

Meanwhile, Suraj’s review video was reportedly still available on YouTube when the matter was reported. The legal notice has therefore added another layer to the film’s post-release discussion, which has already included mixed audience reactions. Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas and starring Yash alongside Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth, continues its theatrical run.
