Ranabaali vs Jailer 2 Dussehra Box Office Clash Gets Bigger

The Dussehra 2026 box office race has become more competitive after Vijay Deverakonda’s period action drama Ranabaali officially locked October 16 as its worldwide release date. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the Mythri Movie Makers production stars Rashmika Mandanna and Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo, with the story set against a nineteenth century historical backdrop.
The October 16 date places Ranabaali directly behind Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, which is scheduled for October 15. Nelson Dilipkumar’s sequel carries enormous expectations following the original Jailer’s reported ₹600 crore plus worldwide run. Sun Pictures has officially confirmed October 15, making the two films major contenders for the lucrative festive window.
The situation becomes even more challenging because Dhanush’s OM – Chapter 1: Udhiram: The Blood Wood is also scheduled for October 16. Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the action thriller features Dhanush, Mammootty, Sai Pallavi and Sreeleela. With Ranabaali and OM sharing the same date, theatre allocation and screen availability could become major trade concerns.
For Ranabaali, the Vijay Deverakonda-Rashmika Mandanna reunion after Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade, Rahul Sankrityan’s period-action vision and Arnold Vosloo’s presence provide strong promotional advantages. However, Jailer 2 has Rajinikanth’s unmatched mass following, while OM brings together Dhanush and Mammootty. The Dussehra weekend could therefore become one of 2026’s biggest South Indian box-office battles.
