Vijay Deverakonda Rashmika Mandanna Ranabaali To Arrive For Dussehra
The much awaited period action drama Ranabaali has received a new release date. Starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, the film will now arrive in theatres worldwide on October 16, 2026, instead of its earlier September 11 release. The makers officially announced the change. Vijay Deverakonda appears in an intense, rugged period avatar as the titular character, the poster's tone is raw and violent, emphasizing an untamed warrior spirit. The intriguing line, “The darkest chapter of our history opens this October,” creating fresh excitement around the film.
Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, Ranabaali is being mounted as a large scale period action drama with a historical backdrop. Vijay Deverakonda plays the titular character, while Rashmika Mandanna is paired with him as Jayamma. Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo, known for The Mummy, plays the antagonist Sir Theodore Hector. The story is set in 19th century South India and draws from historical events associated with the period between 1854 and 1878. The film is being produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under Mythri Movie Makers, with T-Series presenting it.
Ranabaali marks another collaboration between Vijay Deverakonda and director Rahul Sankrityan after Taxiwala, while it also reunites Vijay and Rashmika on screen after their earlier successful films Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade. The makers are reportedly presenting the film as a cinematic reconstruction of a turbulent historical period rather than a conventional biopic. Its story is expected to explore conflict, oppression, resistance and the rise of a warrior figure, giving the film a strong action and emotional dimension.
The film has already generated considerable anticipation because of its scale, period setting and reunion of the popular Vijay-Rashmika combination. Ajay-Atul is composing the music, while Nirav Shah is handling cinematography and Karthika Srinivas is responsible for editing. With the makers now officially confirming Ranabaali's October 16, 2026 worldwide release, the film is positioned as one of the major pan-India releases of the year.
