The Indian sequel has been plagued by hurdles from the very beginning. Initially planned as a single part with a budget of around 250 crores the film budget went overboard during filming leading to the project being put on hold. This led to sudden plans for Indian 3 and Shankar attention was diverted to other projects including Game Changer with Ram Charan and Dil Raju. Meanwhile Kamal Haasan success with Vikram brought Red Giant Movies on board to revive Indian 2.
The release of Indian 2 was met with disastrous talk and bombed massively at the box office. This led to Shankar focusing solely on Game Changer which also emerged as a disaster. The makers of Indian 3 were left in a dilemma with 80 percent of the footage already shot. Due to Shankar back to back disasters the makers decided to minimize the budget for the remaining portion and canceled a song. With Kamal Haasan and Shankar currently not busy with any films Indian 3 might go into production and release in the second half of this year.
Despite the troubled production saga there are some positive signs for Indian 3. The songs and trailer have received a positive response and Kamal Haasan has stated that Indian 3 is a much better project than its prequel with great storytelling. This has generated some excitement among fans who are eagerly waiting to see how the film will turn out.
With the release of Indian 3 on the horizon the question on everyone mind is whether the film can overcome the failure of its prequel. While the production saga has been troubled the positive response to the songs and trailer combined with Kamal Haasan assurance has generated some hope. Can Indian 3 redeem itself and provide a satisfying conclusion to the Indian franchise Let us see.
