Emergency to Stream on Netflix

Kangana Ranaut's latest movie 'Emergency' is all set to stream on Netflix from March 17. The film, which was released in theaters on January 17, received mixed reviews at the box office. Despite being postponed multiple times, the movie failed to generate the expected buzz. However, with its OTT release, fans of Kangana Ranaut can now watch the film from the comfort of their homes.

'Emergency' is based on the political life of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, specifically focusing on the occasion when the Emergency was announced. Kangana Ranaut not only directed but also produced the film, which boasts an impressive cast, including Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Bhumika Chawla, Milind Soman, and Mahima Chaudhary. The film was jointly produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Film banners, with a budget of Rs. 60 crores. Although it collected only Rs. 21 crores at the box office, the film's OTT release is expected to generate more interest.

The ensemble cast of 'Emergency' delivers impressive performances, with Kangana Ranaut playing the lead role of Indira Gandhi. Anupam Kher plays the role of Jayaprakash Narayan, while Shreyas Talpade appears as former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The film's technical crew includes Ritesh Shah, who handled the screenplay and dialogues, and Mark K. Robin, who composed the music.

Kangana Ranaut's previous films have had varying degrees of success at the box office. Her 2023 film 'Tejas' collected Rs 1.25 crore on its opening day, while her 2022 film 'Dhaakad' collected Rs 1.2 crore on its first day. The 2021 political drama 'Thalaivi' earned Rs 1.46 crore on its first day, with Kangana playing the role of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.
