Upendra UI Yet to Find Digital Streaming Partner On OTT

Weeks after the theatrical release of Real Star Upendra Ui the film is yet to find a digital streaming partner. Despite initial reports suggesting that Sun Network had acqUired the satellite and digital rights the makers have clarified that Zee Network has only purchased the television rights. Velu of Lahari Films has confirmed that negotiations are still ongoing for the digital rights and an announcement is expected shortly.

While Zee Network has acqUired the satellite rights of Ui the digital rights are still up for grabs. Velu has refrained from commenting on whether Zee is also a negotiating party for the digital rights. Amazon Prime Video is another potential partner but Velu has neither confirmed nor denied the possibility. The negotiations are reportedly centered around the per minute rate that will be made available to Ui.

Ui produced by Venus Entertainment and Lahari Films released in theaters on December 20. While the film had a good opening it lost steam at the box office once Kiccha Sudeep Max was released five days later. The makers have claimed that Ui is the highest grossing Kannada film of the year but industry trackers have refuted this claim stating that Max registered higher theatrical revenue than Ui.

As the negotiations for Ui digital rights continue fans of Upendra are eagerly awaiting the film OTT release. With Amazon Prime Video being a potential partner its possible that Ui may follow the pay per view model. Once the deal is finalized an official announcement is expected and fans can look forward to watching Ui on their favorite streaming platform.
