Malayalam Brutal Blockbuster to Stream on Sony

The Malayalam blockbuster Marco starring Unni Mukundan is set to conclude its impressive theatrical run and will soon be available on OTT platforms. The makers have finalized a streaming deal with Sony LIV for the South versions of the film which will begin streaming on February 14 2025. The movie directed by Haneef Adeni features Unni Mukundan in the titular role alongside Yukti Thareja Jagadeesh Kabir Duhan Singh Siddique and Abhimanyu Shammi Thilakan in pivotal roles.

Marco which was rated A for its hyper violent scenes has grossed over Rs.115 Cr worldwide from its theatrical run spanning over 40 days. The film Malayalam and Hindi versions have brought in record figures with Rs.42Cr and Rs.13Cr respectively from domestic markets. The OTT version of the film is expected to be among the most viewed Malayalam films on Sony LIV despite the movie theatrical success.

The OTT version of Marco is expected to include deleted sequences that failed to make the cut for being too violent. One of these scenes features actor Riyaz Khan who revealed that he was part of scenes that depicted another phase of Marco life that was not shown in the movie. It remains to be seen if these scenes will make the OTT version but fans are eagerly awaiting the release to find out.

Marco OTT release on Sony LIV is highly anticipated and the film is expected to be among the most watched Malayalam films on the platform. With its engaging storyline impressive performances and well crafted action sequences Marco is poised to captivate audiences once again in its OTT avatar.
