Vishwak Sen's Mechanic Rocky, an action comedy that opened in theatres on November 22, is now headed for its OTT outing on Amazon Prime Video. Despite receiving positive reviews, the film faltered at the box office, but its digital streaming rights were secured by Prime Video prior to the theatrical release. This pre-release business ensured that the makers recovered their investment, making the box office performance less impactful.
Directed by Ravi Teja Mullapudi and produced by Ram Talluri, Mechanic Rocky explores the theme of cybercrimes and strikes a fine balance between mass commercial elements and thought-provoking storytelling. The film features Vishwak Sen in the title role, along with Shraddha Srinath, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Sunil, Naresh, Hyper Aadi, Harsha Vardhan, and Raghu Ram, among others.
The story follows Rocky, a driving school owner in Hyderabad, who faces eviction threats from a local goon. Desperate to save his livelihood, Rocky tries to figure out ways to put together the amount owed to the goon. However, things take a turn when he discovers a life insurance policy left behind by his late father. While the payout is a hefty amount, Rocky was not named the nominee in the policy, leading him to unravel a scam.
Mechanic Rocky is now set to stream on Amazon Prime Video from December 20. With its unique blend of action, comedy, and thought-provoking storytelling, this film is a must-watch for fans of Vishwak Sen and action comedies.
