The Enforcement Directorate conducted raids on Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra's premises in Mumbai as a part of its investigation in the pornography case. ED officials conducted simultaneous raids in Raj Kundra's offices present in Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh.
Background of the case
The ED registered a money laundering case against Raj Kundra in May 2021, after a case regarding pornography was filed against him in Mumbai. Later ED arrested Raj Kundra and was sent to jail. The investigation revealed that Raj Kundra was the prime accused in the pornographic content uploaded on apps like HotHitMovies and HotShots. But Kundra was granted bail in September 2021.
Clarification by Shilpa Shetty's Lawyer
But Shilpa Shetty's lawyer Prashant Patil revealed “There have been reports in the media saying that the Enforcement Directorate has raided my client Mrs Shilpa Shetty Kundra"However , the case in question is an ongoing investigation regarding Mr Raj Kundra and he is cooperating with the investigation for truth to come out.". These reports are not true and are misleading. There is no Enforcement Directorate raid on Mrs Shilpa Shetty Kundra as she has nothing to do with any offence of whatsoever nature."
