Samantha suffered a huge personal today when her beloved father Joseph Prabhu passed away today leaving all tear struck. Sharing the details, Samantha posted “Until we meet again, Dad," accompanied by a broken heart emoji on her Instagram stories.

A Father-Daughter Bond That Shaped Her Journey

Samantha's father Joseph Prabhu was a Telugu Anglo-Indian and she shares good bonding and relationship with him. He played an important role in Samantha's journey as the film actress. Joseph Prabhu's demise leaves a huge vacuum in Samantha's personal life.

Samantha sometime back spoke about her strained relationship with her father and also shared how it impacted her self worth and the sense of it. Sharing her relationship with her father, Samantha said “All my life growing up, I had to fight for validation. My father was kind of like… I think most Indian parents are like that. They think they’re protecting you," she began. Samantha revealed how her father would downplay her abilities. “He actually told me, ‘You’re not that smart. This is just the standard of Indian education. That’s why even you can get a first rank.’ When you say that to a child, I really believed for the longest time that I’m not smart and not good enough."
