The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has cleared "Singham Again" with a U/A rating, but not without significant modifications. The board issued approximately 7.12 minutes of cuts, primarily focusing on scenes referencing the Hindu epic Ramayana, as the film's narrative draws parallels between the epic and the protagonist's journey.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the examining committee recommended several cuts, primarily in the climax and scenes featuring religious shlokas and direct references to Ramayana characters. The makers agreed to implement these modifications, ultimately receiving the certificate on Monday, October 28th.
Visual Juxtaposition: A 23-second scene that attempted to juxtapose visuals of Lord Rama, goddess Sita, and Lord Hanuman with Singham, Avni (Kareena Kapoor Khan), and Simmba (Ranveer Singh), respectively, was modified.
Foot-Touching Scene: A 23-second visual of Singham touching Lord Ram's feet was also modified.
Raavan Scene: A 16-second scene depicting Raavan grabbing, pulling, and pushing Sita was completely deleted.
Hanuman Reference: A 29-second scene referencing Lord Hanuman burning Lanka and a dialogue involving Simmba was also deleted.
Zubair's Dialogue: Dialogue exchanges involving Zubair (Arjun Kapoor) and Simmba were modified in four instances.
Constitutional Head: Visuals and dialogues featuring the Constitutional Head were modified in two instances.
Avni's Dialogue: Avni's dialogue was modified in one scene.
International Relations: A 26-second dialogue and visuals were deleted and modified, citing India's "international diplomatic relations with the neighboring state."
Beheading Scene: A scene depicting beheading inside a police station was blurred.
Religious Flag: The color of the religious flag shown in a scene was modified.
Shiv Strota: "Shiv Strota" was deleted from the background score.
Zubair's Dialogue (Modified): Zubair's dialogue "Teri kahaani ka Raavan main hoon, tere chahite ko bhej" was modified, and the flag's color was also changed in the same scene.
These modifications resulted in a final runtime of 144.12 minutes (around 2 hours, 24 minutes, and 12 seconds) for "Singham Again."
The film, directed by Rohit Shetty, features Ajay Devgn reprising his iconic cop role as Bajirao Singham. It boasts a stellar cast, including Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Jackie Shroff, Dayanand Shetty, and Shweta Tiwari, among others.
