Early Life and Education

Sailesh's father, Seshagiri Rao Kolanu, worked as a production manager for Pratap Art Productions and late filmmaker Kodi Ramakrishna. He graduated from BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, and pursued a PhD in optometry from the University of New South Wales before pursuing filmmaking.

From Short Films to Blockbusters

Sailesh began his career with a short film in a 50-hour filmmaking challenge contest. His directorial debut, HIT: The First Case, starring Vishwak Sen, became a superhit whodunnit thriller. He expanded the HIT franchise with HIT: The Second Case, starring Adivi Sesh, and announced plans for a HITverse with multiple characters.

HIT Franchise Success

Sailesh made his directorial debut with HIT which inturn turned into a franchise and has achieved remarkable success. Nani produced the HIT franchise along with Prasanthi Tipirneni and now he is playing lead in third installment. Sailesh has scored successes with HIT: The First Case (Telugu and Hindi) starring Vishwak Sen, HIT: The Second Case with Adivi Sesh and Upcoming: HIT: The Third Case with Natural Star Nani

After Saindhav with Venkatesh, Sailesh is working on HIT: The Third Case with Nani as Arjun Sarkar, the ruthless cop. The announcement video has generated immense buzz, with the film slated for release on May 1st.
