Ramesh Cheppala, who garnered acclaim as both a writer and director through his film “Bheemadevarapalli Branch,” spoke to the media, sharing his thoughts:

"After completing ‘Bheemadevarapalli Branch,’ I deliberated for a long time about what kind of story to work on next. Out of that reflection came the idea for ‘Laggam.’ In Telangana culture, the concept of ‘laggam’ (wedding halt) is deeply woven with emotions. It holds a special significance here, and I felt compelled to bring those emotions and cultural nuances to the big screen. Many of the characters in this film are drawn from people I observed during my childhood.

"When I initially proposed the title ‘Laggam,’ people immediately connected with it. The overwhelming response to the title alone was something I never anticipated.

"This film is a must-watch for NRIs, software engineers, farmers, young women about to marry, and every father with a daughter. The emotions are captured as if they are paintings. When I conceived the idea for ‘Laggam,’ I knew it had to conclude with a powerful truth, and that's exactly what I’ve done. The climax elevates the film to another level. 'This Laggam will feel like a traditional feast served on a banana leaf.'

The film is produced by Venu Gopal Reddy under the banner of Subishi Entertainments, with a cast that includes Sai Ronak, Pragya Nagra, Rajendra Prasad, Rohini, Saptagiri, L.B.
