Director Sreenu Vaitla, once a prominent name in Tollywood, has faced a string of flops, affecting his career. His latest film, "Viswam", starring Gopichand and Kavya Thapar, released on October 11, 2024, as a Dussehra special. Despite People Media Factory's backing, the action drama has failed to impress, collecting less than Rs 10 crore share to date.

Made on a budget of Rs 35 crore, "Viswam" needed to earn at least Rs 25 crore to break even. However, the film's disappointing performance has put distributors at risk of losses. Sreenu Vaitla's comeback hopes have been dashed, with "Viswam" becoming another flop in his career. Gopichand, too, faces criticism for selecting poor films, including "Viswam".

The film's reviews were largely negative, criticizing Sreenu Vaitla's routine narration and outdated comedy. Multiplexes have removed "Viswam" from their screenings, indicating its poor reception. While People Media Factory may have recouped some costs through OTT deals, the film's failure will impact Sreenu Vaitla's future projects.

Gopichand has two upcoming films, but Sreenu Vaitla's next project remains uncertain. The failure of "Viswam" may have significant consequences for Vaitla's career. Fans and the film industry await his next move, hoping for a revival.
