Lokesh Kanagaraj Announces Standalone Rolex Film

Acclaimed director Lokesh Kanagaraj has confirmed plans to develop a standalone film featuring Suriya's character Rolex, following the success of Kamal Haasan-led Vikram. Kanagaraj revealed his intention to create a Rolex film, stating, "I kept the Rolex scene to finish Vikram with a high. Since I've elevated the Rolex character, I will now make a standalone Rolex film."

Kanagaraj also shared his vision for the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU), emphasizing the need for a proper conclusion. "As the LCU universe has started, it has to be closed properly. So, the next 5 years' movies will be coming under the LCU universe," he said. The LCU currently includes Kaithi, Vikram, and Leo.

The director hinted at a possible sequel to Leo, titled Parthiban, following the original film's box office success. Thalapathy Vijay starred in the first installment. Kanagaraj is currently preparing for his next film, Coolie, marking his first collaboration with Rajinikanth. The ensemble cast includes Sathyaraj, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, and Upendra, with a cameo by Aamir Khan.

As Lokesh Kanagaraj expands his cinematic universe, fans eagerly await the standalone Rolex film and future LCU projects. With Coolie and potential sequels on the horizon, Kanagaraj's vision for Indian cinema continues to unfold.
