Vettaiyan, the highly anticipated Tamil film starring Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, and Fahadh Faasil, has surpassed the ₹50 crore mark within two days of its release. Directed by TJ Gnanavel and produced by Lyca Productions, the film opened to a phenomenal ₹30 crore on its first day, marking the second-biggest opening for a Tamil film in 2024.

On its second day, Vettaiyan earned ₹23.8cr, taking its total earnings to ₹55.5 crore. Although trailing behind Thalapathy Vijay's GOAT in terms of opening day earnings, trade reports indicate a surge in box office numbers over the Dussehra holiday weekend. With a production budget of ₹300 crore, Vettaiyan is one of the biggest investments in Tamil cinema.
