Recent reports reveal that Rajinikanth finished filming his Vizag portions on September 28, 2024. The team then focused on scenes featuring Nagarjuna Akkineni and Shruti Haasan. Although Haasan has completed her filming, she may rejoin the sets for potential patchwork shoots. Her character, Preethi, is believed to have limited screen time but significant impact.

Coolie marks Shruti Haasan's first on-screen collaboration with Rajinikanth, a long-time friend and rival of her father, Kamal Haasan.
