Rajinikanth Undergoes Successful Non-Surgical Treatment For Aortic Swelling

Tamil cinema legend Rajinikanth was hospitalized at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai on September 30, 2024, due to stomach pain. According to a statement released by the hospital, the actor had swelling in his aorta, the main blood vessel leaving his heart.

Senior interventional cardiologist Dr. Sai Satish performed a non-surgical, transcatheter procedure, placing a stent in Rajinikanth's aorta to seal off the swelling. The hospital confirmed that the procedure went as planned, and Rajinikanth is expected to return home within two days.

Despite this health scare, Rajinikanth's upcoming projects remain on schedule. His next film, Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel, is set for release on October 10, featuring an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, and Rana Daggubati. Additionally, he is working on Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie, slated for a 2025 release.

Rajinikanth's wife, Latha, and Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian provided updates on his condition, assuring fans that "all is well." The actor's recent attendance at the audio and preview launch of Vettaiyan demonstrates his commitment to his craft, despite health challenges.
