Kangana Ranaut Agrees To 13 Cuts Suggested By CBFC

Kangana Ranaut's film "Emergency" has been making headlines lately, and the latest update is that the actress-politician has agreed to the Central Board of Film Certification's (CBFC) suggested edits. This development came to light during a recent Bombay High Court hearing, where the court was addressing a petition filed by Zee Entertainment Enterprises, the film's co-producers, seeking the release of the censor certificate.

The CBFC had requested 13 cuts in "Emergency," which Ranaut has both directed and co-produced, citing historical inaccuracies and misrepresentation of the Sikh community. The film, which stars Ranaut as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, alongside Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, Mahima Chaudhry, and Milind Soman, was initially set to release on September 6 but has been delayed.

Ranaut had previously expressed her thoughts on the CBFC's suggestions, calling some of them "quite unreasonable". However, she emphasized her commitment to defending the film's integrity, stating, "We've received requests for cuts, but while feedback is always welcome, some of the suggestions seem quite unreasonable... Nevertheless, we are ready to stand our ground and protect the film's integrity."

The court has scheduled further hearing on the matter for October 3, urging the CBFC to take a firm stand on the film's release. With the film's certification still pending, fans eagerly await its release. Will "Emergency" finally hit theaters soon? Only time will tell.
