Arshad Warsi Clarifies "Joker" Comment About Prabhas, Acknowledging His Talent

Tollywood superstar Prabhas, known for his blockbuster hits, recently saw his latest mythological sci-fi film, "Kalki 2898 AD," spark debate across the industry. While the film generated considerable excitement, Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi's critical comments about Prabhas' performance ignited a storm of controversy.

Last month, Warsi, during an interview, referred to Prabhas as a "joker," sparking outrage from Prabhas' fans and celebrities from the South. While the comment drew widespread condemnation, Warsi finally addressed the situation at the 2024 IIFA Awards.

He clarified that his remark was intended to be directed at the character in the film, not at Prabhas himself. "Everybody has their own point of view, and people like to interpret noise," Warsi explained, emphasizing that he holds immense respect for the actor's talent. "Prabhas is a brilliant actor, and he has proved himself again and again. We know about it. And, when we give a bad character to a good actor, it’s heartbreaking for the audience," he added.

Warsi also expressed his delight at witnessing the growing collaboration between actors from different regions, breaking down language barriers. "I'm happy to see actors from different backgrounds coming together," he shared.

It remains to be seen whether Warsi's clarification will effectively quell the backlash he received for his initial comment. However, his acknowledgment of Prabhas' talent and dedication to his craft might help bridge the gap between the two camps.
