The Movie Artistes' Association (Maa), led by president Vishnu Manchu, has taken stern action against Telugu YouTubers posting defamatory content about the Telugu film industry. Following a controversy surrounding a video with offensive remarks, Maa issued a public statement warning YouTubers to remove such content. Consequently, 18 YouTube channels were blocked for spreading harmful content, and their owners' accounts were taken down. This move aims to curb derogatory content and send a strong message to those exploiting Tollywood for monetary gain.
Maa has been actively working to terminate YouTube channels posting derogatory content about their artists. In addition to the 18 channels blocked, the association had previously blocked five channels for posting derogatory comments about actors, their families, and personal attacks. Maa has urged YouTubers and social media trolls to remove such content from their channels and profiles to avoid complications.
The association has also announced its intention to report defamatory troll videos to the Cyber Crime office, emphasizing their commitment to protecting the reputation of the Telugu film industry and its artists. This crackdown on derogatory content aims to maintain a positive and respectful online environment for the industry.
By taking decisive action against defamatory content, Maa is setting a precedent for responsible online behavior and encouraging YouTubers to focus on constructive content. As the association continues to monitor and address harmful content, the Telugu film industry can expect a more supportive and respectful online community.
