Tamannaah enters school books, Parents shocked. A private school in Hebbal, Bengaluru, has found itself at the center of a controversy after including a chapter about actress Tamannaah Bhatia in its 7th-grade textbooks. The school, catering to a Sindhi-speaking minority, incorporated the chapter as part of a lesson on the Sindhi community. However, this decision has sparked outrage among parents who deem the content inappropriate for young students.
Parents have filed complaints with the Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights and the Associated Management of Primary and Secondary Schools in Karnataka, expressing serious concerns about the chapter's suitability. They argue that online searches about the actress could expose children to unsuitable content.
Further intensifying the situation, allegations surfaced that the school management threatened to issue transfer certificates to students whose parents voiced objections. In response, the Associated Managements of English Medium Schools in Karnataka (KAMS) has vowed to take up the matter with the Primary Education Department and fight against this decision.
While parents have no issue with lessons on veteran actors from the Sindhi community, they firmly believe that a chapter on Tamannaah Bhatia is inappropriate for 7th-grade students. The school authorities have remained silent on the matter, leaving parents and the wider community to grapple with this contentious issue.
