If audience in India and NRIs abroad are eagerly waiting to see the magnum opus of Shankar, Rajinikanth and Sun Pictures in the name of ‘Robot/Endhiran;’ there is a section of technicians in India and abroad who are waiting to learn about Animatronics after watching the ‘Robot.’

Other than this Shankar says that, ‘For a film on Robots, the technical facility required to carry it through is just not available in India and it is a very expensive outing even in abroad. The film begins and ends with special effects, only the songs and a few scenes are exempt from special effects. Frankie Chang, who handled the postproduction of the 3D animated climax scenes at the studio in Hong Kong, even told me that such a climax has not been attempted in his part of the world until now. Animatronics is a painstaking craft and we are here coming with for Indian cinema.’
