Karthik Aaryan stunned everyone with his toned physique for Chandu Champion. A tale of struggle and triumph directed by Kabir Khan has revealed it's trailer. The trailer revealed that the film is about an Indian Army officer who recovers from a coma after getting hit on the battlefields in the 1965 Indo-Pakistani War and takes up boxing.
Sharing the trailer on Instagram, Kartik wrote, "My career’s toughest and most special film, that too from my hometown Gwalior where I dreamt of becoming an actor," while describing it as "the story of a man who refused to surrender." The film is inspired by the real-life story of freestyle swimmer Murlikant Petkar, who was a Jawan of the Craftsman rank in the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers in the Indian Army and won the country's first Paralympic gold.
The trailer showcases Kartik Aaryan's character Murli is a man with an ambition to win a gold medal in the Olympics. He faces criticism from his classmates, teachers and parents. He was nicknamed "Chandu" by his classmates but Murli is determined to prove them wrong and win India's first gold medal in the Olympics. His journey unfolds as he sets his eyes on representing India in the Olympics, leading him to enlist in the Army to sharpen his skills.
Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Kabir Khan, and Firuzi Khan, Chandu Champion also stars Vijay Raaz in the role of Petkar's boxing coach and Rajpal Yadav. It has cinematography by Sudeep Chatterjee, music by Pritam. Chandu Champion will release on June 14 this year.
