Prakash Raj : Versatile & Multi-faceted

Prakash Raj is quite popular in south film industry and also a familiar face in Hindi films. He is well respected and loved actor who impressed the audience in varied roles spanning over three decades. He comes from theatre background who worked as a stage actor, telivision presenter, film actor, producer, director and a politician too. He showed his mark on every stage he chose. 

Before coming into films Prakash Raj has 2000 street theatres performances to his credit. With such a strong theatre background he has, it didn't take much time for him to shine on silver screen. He acted in a half a dozen Kannada films before he gets big break big with Tamil film, 'Duet' by director Balachander who changed his name from 'Prakash Rai' to 'Prakash Raj'. Then he became a busy actor in Kannada and Tamil films.

Prakash Raj got introduced in Telugu with Sankalpam starring Jagapathi Babu directed by AM Rathnam. But, he got recognition with SV Krishna Reddy films Gunshot and Vinodam. Prakash Raj shot to fame in Telugu with Pawan Kalyan's Suswagatham and he got his big break with Krishna Vamsi's Anthahpuram. There is no looking back since then. 

Prakash Raj also turned into Director and delivered numerous Superhits majorly in Kannada. His films also made simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil. He also produced some big films like Payanam / Gaganam with Nagarjuna in lead role along with Dil Raju and Abhiyum Naanum / Aakasamantha with Trisha. He is the winner of National Award for five times and Nandi Award for eight times. This shows his acting prowess.
