Mamitha Baiju claims Bala hit her.Actor Mamitha Baiju, known for her role in 'Premalu,' was initially cast in director Bala's upcoming film 'Vanangaan.' However, in a recent interview with a Malayalam publication, she revealed that she opted out of the project. Baiju also disclosed that she had a difficult experience during the film's shooting, including an incident where director Bala allegedly hit her.
Earlier, actor Suriya was signed on as the hero for 'Vanangaan,' but he later opted out due to creative differences with director Bala. Actor Arun Vijay was then brought in as Suriya's replacement.
Reflecting on her time on set, Baiju shared, "There is a dance in the film called 'Villadicha Maatan.' I was unsure if I was supposed to perform this dance from the beginning." She also mentioned that she had to learn to play an instrument and sing for a scene, which initially made her nervous. Despite her apprehensions, she managed to learn it in three takes, but she was scolded by director Bala in the process.
Regarding the incident where director Bala allegedly hit her, Baiju mentioned that actor Suriya was aware of the situation. She said, "Suriya sir knows about it. We are the newcomers in this."
On December 22, director Bala announced that Suriya was no longer part of 'Vanangaan' due to changes in the story that may not have suited the actor's image. The film was then reworked with Arun Vijay in the lead role. Recently, the teaser for 'Vanangaan' was released, generating interest among viewers.
Written and directed by Bala, 'Vanangaan' also stars Roshni Prakash, Samuthirakani, and Mysskin in pivotal roles. The film is slated for a theatrical release in March.
