Ranveer Singh As Shaktimaan Will Start In 2025

Influenced by Hollywood superheroes franchise films, Bollywood too tried the genre and got successful with 'Krrish' starring Hrithik Roshan. But, except Krrish none of the superhero films worked at the boxoffice until Minnal Murali in Malayalam and recently, HanuMan in Telugu which became a Pan India Blockbuster.

With the success of these films, makers got confidence in trying Superhero genre in a grand manner. For this popular desi superhero, Shaktimaan who is very well known for kids and those who watched TV in 90's. Bollywood star Ranveer Singh has been roped in to play Shaktimaan. 

Ranveer will reportedly play the titular role in the film directed by Basil Joseph who has delivered much acclaimed Malayalam superhero flick Minnal Murali headlined by Ttovino Thomas. The film is said to go on floors next year in May. It is eyeing a 2026 release. 

The film has been in the writing stage for over 3 years now and the team has finally cracked a script that’s worthy of doing justice to the legacy of Shaktimaan. The film will be directed by Basil Joseph, with Sony Pictures India and Sajid Nadiadwala as the producer. But before this exciting project, Ranveer will finish Farhan Akhtar directorial, Don 3.
