As said by a cine edition that today’s filmmakers are more banking upon big release of their movies with 200 to 700 prints resulting in record openings but movies ouster from theatres in three weeks flat. If Producers manage to recover their money in these three weeks, it is Theatre owners who are suffering as blockbusters are running on deficit in theatres from fourth week and no sufficient releases to feed the theatre from then on.
The major effect of these kind of mega releases is that, a blockbuster can maximum run for 50 days in main theatre, only one or two in a year may go for 100 days and forget about silver and golden jubilees. Producers and Buyers may blame it on increasing budget of movie making but theatres are suffering due to less number of releases. Solution is that, big heroes must come up with at least three movies a year but this isn’t possible.
Going by this year trends, Raviteja is to deliver high number of movies and Balakrishna has already delivered biggest hit of the year feeding many theatres for 100 days. For now, both of them have become real saviors for industry.
