Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for his controversial yet critically acclaimed films, recently discussed showing his latest movie, Animal, to his family. During a candid interview with Siddharth Kannan, Vanga revealed his wife's reaction to the film's portrayal of female characters and bloodshed.

Vanga revealed that his wife, while not objecting to the movie's treatment of female characters, expressed reservations about the excessive violence. He also shared that he showcased an edited version of the movie to his seven-year-old son, ensuring that all inappropriate scenes were removed. The young boy found amusement in a comical underwear scene, much to the director's surprise.

Furthermore, Vanga spoke about his brother's critical feedback. He acknowledged that his brother was blunt and honest in his evaluations, often leading to "ideological battles" at home. However, he appreciated the genuine feedback provided by his family.

Vanga's brother recounted the challenges they faced in funding Arjun Reddy, their first film. Despite initial difficulties in securing financing, the family rallied together and sold their ancestral land, consisting of 36 acres of mango farmland, to support Vanga's filmmaking dream. This unwavering support and sacrifice paid off as Animal emerged as a massive commercial success, grossing over Rs 900 crore worldwide and setting viewership records on Netflix for Indian films.
