Pawan not doing Neru remake.Pawan Kalyan, buoyed by the success of 'Vakeel Saab,' a Telugu adaptation of the Hindi film 'Pink,' expressed interest in taking on another courtroom drama, inspired by the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Malayalam film 'Neru,' starring Mohanlal as an upright lawyer. Impressed by the positive reviews and robust box office collections of 'Neru' in Kerala, Pawan Kalyan, known for his discerning choices, initially considered donning the lawyer's robes once again.

According to sources, the actor was eager to explore the genre further, given his success with 'Vakeel Saab.' However, he eventually shelved the plans as he reportedly believed that 'Neru' lacked a broader appeal to capture the attention of Telugu audiences. The decision was influenced by the film's narrative, which focused on the story of a blind rape victim, deemed simpler and more limited in scope compared to the socially resonant themes championed in 'Vakeel Saab.'

"He enthralled his fans and viewers with 'Vakeel Saab' as he fought for the rights of women and emphasized the freedom of young and working girls. While 'Neru' was confined to one girl and had limited reach, Pawan Kalyan appreciated the narrative style of Jeetu Joseph and Mohanlal's compelling performance," notes a source.

Pawan Kalyan, currently awaiting the release of his much-anticipated film 'OG' in September, has several significant projects like 'Ustaad Bhagat Singh' in various stages of production. The actor, who has been aiming to regain his winning streak, faced a setback with his last release, 'Bro,' which did not perform well at the box office. As he continues his cinematic journey, Pawan Kalyan's discerning choices and commitment to socially relevant themes remain a focal point of his career.
