Kannada superstar Yash is enjoying a super stardom especially after monstrous success of KGF. His fans celebrate his birthday like a festival in Karnataka. On Sunday, 7 January, when a group of his fans from Soranagi were putting up the cutout of their favourite actor to celebrate his birthday in Gadag’s Lakshmeshwar taluk, they contacted a live wire and three of them — Hanumanth Muchendappa (21), Murali Naduvinamane (20), and Naveen Neelappa (19) — were instantly killed.

On Monday, 8 January, on his Birthday Yash directly came from Goa where he is celebrating his birthday with his family came to Soranagi village in the Gadag district and consoled the family members of three young men, who were electrocuted while trying to erect his cutout. He also met three others undergoing treatment at the Taluk Hospital. The actor later told his fans not to put up cutouts for him.

Yash got emotional and thanked his fans for their unconditional love. He also told them not to do such things which might put their lives at risk. He said he might give money to the families but he can't get their sons back and it is due to these incidents he has been keeping himself away from celebrating birthdays since lockdown. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced an ex gratia of ₹2 lakh each to the bereaved families, after Shirahatti MLA Dr Chandru Lamani visited Soranagi, and met the bereaved families. District in-charge minister HK Patil told reporters that ₹50,000 will be given to the injured men.
